Low turnout on new voters registration

With only two days to the end of the voter registration exercise, latest figures show that the IEBC is set to miss its target by a huge margin. The commision has so far register 1.14 million new voters, out of a total target of about six million.

Some argue poor leadership, unfulfilled promises, vote theft and poor relationship with the electorate could be the main reason for low turnout.

With only a day to the end of the mass voter listing by the electoral body, IEBC, political leaders have expressed concerns about the situation.
