Lionel Messi scored all five Argentina goals in a 5-0 friendly win over Estonia, overtaking Hungary’s great Ferenc Puskás among the all-time international men’s top score

Messi is now the fourth highest-scorer in men’s international football, behind only Malaysia’s Mokhtar Dahari (89), Iran’s Ali Daei (109) and Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo (117).

Messi is the first player in the history of the Argentinian national team to score five goals in one game. Hescored from the spot in the eighth minute, then added four more in the space of half an hour (45, 47, 71 and 76 minutes).

His quintet extended his record tally of goals for his country to 86.
