Former Tanzanian Prime Minister Edward Lowassa Dies Aged 70

Former Tanzanian PM died on February 10, 2024, while receiving treatment at the Jakaya Kikwete Cardiac Institute in Dar es Salaam.

Lowassa died at the age of 70. Vice President Dr Philip Mpango announced his death on Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation (TBC).

His career as prime minister started from 2005 to 2008 under former president Jakaya Kikwete. 

President Ruto eulogized the late Tanzanian Prime Minister as a respected and progressive leader who worked for the greater good of the people of Tanzania and the East African Region.
