The National Dialogue Committee has agreed to have the cost of living form the agenda of the ongoing talks.
“We are tackling the issue on the cost of living……We have resolved beginning early next week, this issue on the cost of living cannot be agreed upon in one sitting,” said Ichung’wa.
“It is in the framework agreement we adopted when we first began, we may want to recall expert opinions. During the stakeholders consultation we said they should improve on that and come back,” added Kalonzo.
According to Ichung’wah, the cost of living cannot be discussed and agreed in a single sitting and the committee is exploring immediate, medium, and long-term solutions.
The team is currently on a retreat in Nakuru for a week-long negotiation on the sticky issues which included the cost of living.
Azimio leader Raila Odinga insisted Sunday in an event in Kitengela that reducing the cost of living is top on the coalition’s agenda in the talks.
