Sadio Mane has purchased French club Bourges Foot 18, who operate in the fourth-tier, with the local mayor giving his blessing as the Liverpool legend looks to make an impact
The Senegalese player has been in talks with the semi-pro outfit since it was founded back in 2021, but the forward has now officially committed to investing in the Championnat National 2 side, citing his close relationship with the club’s president, Cheikh Sylla, as key in him securing the deal.
Mané’s purchase has also received the approval of the mayor of the city, Yann Galut.
The club, located 250 kilometres from Paris in central France, has never played higher than the French second division. Bourges sit second bottom in Group B of the Championnat National.
